"Welcome" with chocolate

While I was arranging some souvenirs brought home from U.S. trip, I found a box of Fine Belgian Chocolates from Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas. Incredibly, I had forgotten about this nice welcome gift that the hotel had made us to find inside the room. Indeed, it’s now clear that chocolate is to all effects a gift. It's always more a symbol of elegance and good taste. Curious to know more, I went to see who is behind this chocolate in particular, which delights plenty of tourists and travelers staying at the Bellagio. The producer is Chewter's Chocolates, which is based in British Columbia. Visiting their website you can read that this is a company that works just for hotels, restaurants, souvenir shops, etc.. In other words, it personalizes chocolate. Of course, the product range is varied, from classical coins of hazelnut chocolate truffles to the pistachio pralines. Even the packaging is very nice, small boxes of paper or for more unique gifts, birch wood. apparels. Regards to this, Chewter stresses that the company is part of a reforestation program and social responsibility for environmental protection.

Have you ever seen a chocolate fountain?

Speaking of Las Vegas is certainly not common to think about chocolate… We all have in mind the big hotels full of lights, glitter and fun. However inside the Bellagio, one of the finest luxury hotel of "Sin City" there’s a real monument to chocolate. This is the largest chocolate fountain in the world (certified by the Guinness Book of Records) created by pastry champion Jean-Philippe Maury. Made of glass, the fountain allows you to see the chocolate flow from top to bottom, down to the ground. The magic athmosphere created by the chocolate fountain is unique and this is a show that you wouldn’t expect to see in Las Vegas.
The fountain also is inside a pastry shop in true European style, where you can find croissants, pastries of all kinds, crepes and breathtaking cakes.

Let's discover Cupcake Jones, the kingdom of Cupcakes

When you arrive in Portland Oregon, you can immediately breathe fresh air. There are many pubs, restaurants and among all  one in particular stands out: Cupcake Jones, the kingdom of cupcake. Inside the small building at 307 NW 10th Avenue, you can see the different colors of icing jewelry with an  inimitable taste. Of course one of the must is the chocolate cupcake, like the Downtown Cupcake Brown, covered with dark chocolate or a Sunday's specialty, the Chocolate Chip Cookie that is completed with a fantastic homemade chocolate biscuit. Cupcake Jones is an experience, you can not go to Portland and not take the opportunity to taste a cupcake. If you have some days to spend and you want to make a special gift ... you can order a cake made of cupcakes, go to see works of art that you can compose with the cupcake! Good discovery.

Back home with lots of chocolate

It's been a long time since I've written but the road trip through the north west of the US has been internet free for the most part of it. However I've tried to picture and take inspiration from the different towns visited and wonderful people met. As I previously wrote I first arrived to Seattle, a very nice town, usually know for the smooth rain, which actually was like the hot place to be in the third week of august. Extremely hot weather. However, the grunge movement native land is also known for being a chocolate town. One of the most famous chocolate brand in Seattle is the Dilettante. They have every type of truffle, bar and different kind of tastes. It's a chocolate party. The packagings are also very exclusive and some boxes can be a real gift for your loved ones. My friend Silvia told me about Dilettante, also because they have Mocha Cafés around Seattle, one even at the airport and one that is also a Martini Chocolate Bar with special treatment, of course with chocolate, have a look here.
Even the most famous attraction of Seattle, the Space Needle, inside the gift shop has beautiful bars and Dilettante chocolates.
If you get the chance to run into a chocolate bar or a truffle, make sure non to miss the chance to experience it!
